| The Pellet Advantage...
Pelleted feeds have been around for more than a half century. Our commitment to quality has earned Sacate the trust of the horse community and has firmly established its products as the best in the industry. Here are just a few of the reasons that make pellets a nutritious feed alternative:
Why should you feed pellets?
- Each bite is balanced. There is no sorting or choosing, thus, performance from pellets is better because a balanced ration is a more efficient ration.
- Pellets eliminate waste in feeding. There is probably a ten percent savings on feed that would normally be pulled and scattered outside the feed box or manger.
- Pellets eliminate dustiness and lessen the incidence of heaves, which can occur in horses on low quality hay rations.
- There can be more roughage and less concentrate in a complete pellet and still perform the same amount of work. A ration of half grain and half hay for working horses can be replaced with a pellet that contains no more than one-third grain and two-thirds hay.
- Pellets are less bulky to handle, store and ship, and it is easier to gauge the amount being fed. A 1,000 lb. mature horse can usually stay in condition with 15 or 16 lbs. a day depending on the work it performs and the energy level of the pellet.*
